Beijing Subway Line 1 to Close Earlier on 11th and 25th April 2015 for Signalling Improvements

Access to Beijing Subway Line 1

On two Saturdays in April 2015 — the 11th and 25th — Beijing Subway Line 1 will end operations earlier than usual. This is to allow for signalling system improvements and related tests.

On these Saturdays, services will end at 21:00. At that time, all Line 1 ticket offices and machines will close early for the day. Additionally, ticket gates will only allow passengers out of the Line 1 stations, and interchanges with other lines will also end early.

These improvement works do not affect any other lines. Passengers are reminded to plan their journeys out early, avoiding Line 1 where needed.

Alternatives in the city centre that also run west-east include Lines 6 and 7, and for partial stretches only, the two orbitals — Lines 2 and 10. Use these and connect to or from buses, cars, or taxis where needed.
