To cut queues for the upcoming May Break, Zhengzhou Railway Station has installed 22 new ticket vending and pickup machines in central Zhengzhou. These machines can both sell tickets and pickup pre-booked ones. They are, however, mostly for the use of Chinese ID card holders (excluding temporary ID cards and older generation ones).
So if you have a local friend who wants to get their tickets early, remind them of these new machines — available in Erqi, Huiji, Jinshui, and Zhongyuan districts. There is no need for them to rush to the city’s train stations just to pickup a ticket. (Better still, if they travel on a route supporting Chinese ID cards as e-tickets bought online, they do not need to pick any ticket up.)
Most of these are in hotels that are mostly for locals, such as express hotels, such as Hanting hotels and other “quick” business hotels.
These machines are usually in operation from 08:00 through to 22:00. They usually accept UnionPay cards as well.
