Beijing Subway: Yonghegong Station Closed Until 17:30 on 19 February 2015

19 February 2015 is the first day of the Chinese New Year of the Sheep. At this time, the temples, in particular major ones — such as the Yonghegong Lama Temple — are likely to be very busy. Traffic on Yonghegong Street may also slow considerably — expect traffic queues if you happen to be in this area.

The Beijing Subway has also decided to shut down Yonghegong station until later in the day. These measures are as follows in detail:

YONGHEGONG LAMA TEMPLE STATION (Lines 2 and 5)

  • Station closed on 19 February 2015 from first train until 17:30
  • No interchange options here; change instead at Chongwenmen between the two lines, or use other ways around

BEIXINQIAO STATION (Line 5)

  • Exits A and B (northwest and northeast exits, respectively) closed on 19 February 2015 from first train until 17:30
  • Exits C and D (southeast and southwest exits, respectively) remain open for the entire day for entry and exit
