Flooding Causes Delays on Railways Around Beijing

There are currently delays on the following railways around Beijing, due to flooding which has hit parts of the capital, in the wake of a city-wide rainstorm. Beijing Rail reports that these affected railway lines are:

  • Beijing-Chengde Railway
  • Beijing-Tongliao Railway
  • Beijing-Yuanping Railway
  • Beijing-Zhangjiakou Railway
  • Fengtai-Shacheng Railway

Regular rail services and Beijing Suburban Railway Line S2 trains are hit. There are delays of several hours. Rail crew are in action and are dealing with the issue to return lines to normal running and to mitigate delays.

On some trains, passengers are being given meals and bottles of mineral water due to the delays.

So far, the flooding and delays have not appeared to hit high speed trains at Beijing South Railway Station.
