A report from the Beijing Evening Daily shows that the subway line to Beijing Capital International Airport is about to become China’s first fully automatic line, and that the maximum speed there will be 110 km/h.

This new line will be 40 km/h faster than regular train on Line 1 or Line 2. These run presently at “only” 70 km/h.

The new 28 km long connection to the airport will leave the urban part of Beijing from Dongzhimen. It will also have stations at Sanyuan Bridge, and Terminals 3 and 2 at the airport, and it will offer connections to Subway Lines 2, 10, and CityRail Line 13.
